Afficher le texte d'une Tedit et comment servir du Shell

Salut,

je commence le Delphi (gété au VB), et j'aimerai savoir comment on peut stocker le texte d'une Tedit dans une variable. En gros quel est l'équivalent de
variable = text1.text
en Delphi ?

Autre question: Comment se sert on du Shelle en Delphi sachant que le VB, c'est
Shell ("c:\windows
otepad.exe")

Sinon, voici les réponses à tes questions :

-Tu peux faire : 
"var Texte: String; 
begin
...
Text :=  Edit1.Text; //tout simplement !!!
..."

-Il y a la fonction WinExec('notepad.exe');
