I fill in all the boxes and click validate; I get no error messages. When I then login and use my username and password it tells me that I'm not registered. The 3 items I entered are: Username, email, password (characters).

What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I've just testing and, for me, it is working.
Have you receive the confirmation mail? Have you validate your account by clicking on the link inside it?
